Over thirty years experience in teaching and applying evaluation principles. In addition to regular consulting services, Dr. Underwood has served as an external evaluator on the following types of grants:
• FIPSE grants (Information Literacy)
• NSF grants (Chemistry Computer-Based Objective Assessment Tasks) and
• DOE grants (Preparing Tomorrow’s Teachers to Use Technology Grant (The Integration of Technology into Classroom Lessons in the Teacher Preparation Program at the University of Houston-Clear Lake). Dr. Underwood wrote the evaluation section of the grant application and provided the evaluation once the grant was awarded.
Dr. Underwood has also served as an assessment expert for the Southeastern University and College Coalition for Engineering Education (SUCCEED). The SUCCEED grant was designed to assist engineering colleges with the capability to provide proper assessment activities in pursuit of continuing Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) guidelines and meet the assessment requirements of the regional accrediting bodies.
